Nice job, asshole Did you want to tell some pre schoolers about Santa too? "I was going to give [Jeter] a couple pipe shots," " I just thought he deserved it. I didn't know he was going to hit a double or I was going to change my mind. I thought he was going to hit something hard to the right side for a single or an out. I probably should've pitched him a little better." And don't lie and say it was misunderstood. You were pissy you got hit and reacted like a child He was one of the few Cardinals I never had a bad word about |

Matheny is more deserving of the ASG DBOTW. Good thing 2 of the 3 Brewers that he buried at the bottom of the order came to hit tonight.....which they had to since his pitchers gave up all 5 runs. |

This probably belongs in the Gawker Sucks thread but whatever: http://deadspin.com/adam-wainwright-had ... 1605746374 So who is Deadspin feigning outrage for here? No one forced his ass to serve up a meatball to Jeter. |

Michael Strahan thought it was a disgrace to groove a fastball to Jeter. |

I heard the AL pitchers tried to make up for it by grooving it to Castro and Rizzo but both of them missed. |

A pitcher from a team most people dislike decided to intentionally give up a hit to a player most people dislike. Deadspin, naturally, decided to blame all the little people out there. It's no wonder it's Dan's favorite website. |

I have never noticed that, always thought he was well liked by even non Yankees fans. |

I thought Matheny had a terrible game, except for putting in Gordon when Sale was pitching. His Cardinal pitchers were awful, I thought he kept some of the starters in too long, and with the showing Puig had in the HR derby and in his first at bat, he should have been out of the game after the 2nd inning. |

I figured the approach to Jeter was sort of a begrudging tolerance. I have nothing against him as a player, it's just, enough already, you know? |

Yeah, but you can say that about anyone the media/public decides to make a darling. It's not Jeter's fault they decided to build a broadcast around him or that people are interested in the contents of the gift basket he gave Scarlett Johansson when he kicked her to the curb. |

I meant the starters in general. 5 & 6th innings and Puig, McCutchen, Stanton, among others, were still in there. At least McCutchen got a hit and stole a base. |

Gotcha, I thought you were talking pitching. Yeah, that surprised me a little also, hell even Ramirez got 3 at bats. |

Adam Wainwright has a long way to go before he can presume to insult a living legend like Derek Sanderson Jeter. At this point, Adam Wainwright is merely a pesky mosquito, easily brushed aside by a mammoth and majestic elephant. Derek Sanderson Jeter is that elephant. |
