Give me a break. Poor Alabama, got such crazy fans with high expectations
Quote:
Coming off a 14-13 win over Arkansas, Nick Saban is not happy. He’s not as upset with his team’s performance; it’s the Crimson Tide fan base that’s drawing the coach’s ire.
After being asked about the mistakes his team made in their win on Saturday, Saban went off on a tangent about the outside expectations the team faces.
“Everybody’s got such a high expectation for what our team should be. I was just happy to see our players be happy about playing a game and winning,” Saban said.
“It really, if you want to know the truth about it, pisses me off when I talk to people that have this expectation like they’re disappointed that we only won the game 14-13 and the way we played. That’s frustrating. You want to talk about something that’s frustrating? That’s frustrating to me, for our players, who play with a lot of heart in the game.”
Saban credited his team for supporting each other, specifically mentioning how the Crimson Tide picked up Blake Sims after he made a mistake on a quarterback sneak. He also said that he hadn’t seen as much emotion from his team as they showed after Landon Collins made his game-sealing interception all season.
Alabama will have to tune out the outside noise Saban is hearing when they meet Texas A&M on Saturday.
