I don't make a habit of questioning women who claim that they were raped, and I definitely understand why rape victims remain silent. We do a lot of victim blaming in society.

But, if she really was raped, then she should go to the police, and get the guy. It's much harder to believe these claims, when they contain nothing but extremely vague details, and story changes, as if she was planning on writing this into an episode of Girls. It comes off as nothing more than an attention grab. This goes for Lady Gaga, as well.

It comes off as an attention grab because she wrote a book and emphasized these "tribulations". She has basically miscalculated her "memoirs". She wanted to come off, clearly, as the strong, millennial modern feminist who would take the torch and move womyn into the 21st century on her back. however, because of her inability to be self aware, she doesn't realize how much she comes off as a smug, spoiled, overeducated brat. she has no sensitivity or sensibility. she was raised to be apathetic and it reeks through her little monologues.
