Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner on Friday replaced the longtime Illinois Gaming Board chairman with a political supporter who ran an independent expenditure committee that backed him in the November election. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/loca ... story.html More of the same. |

So if it was us,wouldn't you want to put your buddies first if qualified? The new GM of the Bears and every other sports boss does the same thing and their friends didn't give them money before they got their gigs. |

I also love the salaries for his staffers. The justification? "You have to pay more for good talent". D or R after the name makes no difference. |

Q.Bovifs wrote: Maybe now they will get their mitts off the fucking Super Bowl Pools and strip cards at bowling alleys. Fuckers shut that shit down because they say it conflicts with the poker machines - threaten to fine and pull machines if they secret shop and see pools. Bowling alleys historically had the very best pools. We had to move our fantasy football draft because the place we've used for 10 years had poker machines installed and they said they couldn't have another form of gambling. So fucking stupid. |

Even though jamokes like me have to save on our own for retirement. |

I believe in paying more to get good people who can get shit done and manage their business. Saving a few dollars and hiring people on the cheap costs your business more in the long run. |

Here's what I don't get: Rauner said they all were making more in the private sector and took pay cuts to work for him. Why? Out of the goodness of their hearts? |

Peoria Matt wrote: Here's what I don't get: Rauner said they all were making more in the private sector and took pay cuts to work for him. Why? Out of the goodness of their hearts? Some do it for that reason. Some do it to increase business connections. Some do it out of service for their fellow human being. The fact is most of the top talent in every industry is in the private sector. |

(insert Brickhouse photo here) Rauner already is worth millions. I'm pretty sure that he doesn't really need the hassel of trying to fix our fucked up state in order to make more business contacts. I believe that he actually wants to serve snd improve our state. |
