Idiots Meanwhile, In Racism: Football Fans Refuse To Let Black Man On Subway, Krispy Kreme Apologizes For “KKK Wednesdays” In UK (DETAILS) A video of Chelsea fans spewing racist remarks to a black man in Paris has gone viral, leaving the British football team to investigate. The incident happened on Tuesday when the team visited France to play Paris Saint-Germain in a Champions League. Fans who were on the train before the game began can be heard chanting, “We’re racist, we’re racist and that’s the way we like it,” before preventing a black man from entering the subway by constantly pushing him. After the video went viral, Chelsea released a statement promising criminal action for those involved. According to CNN: “Such behavior is abhorrent and has no place in football or society,” said statement released by Chelsea Wednesday. “We will support any criminal action against those involved in such behavior, and should evidence point to the involvement of Chelsea season ticket holders or members the club will take the strongest possible action against them including banning orders.” Joseph S. Blatter, the president of FIFA, also commented on the incident: Thankfully, no one was hurt. [CNN] ———- Meanwhile, on the same side of the pond, a Krispy Kreme in the UK has apologized for naming an event “KKK Wednesdays” during a special promotion. The Huffington Post reports the donut shop in Hull, England set up the event to be a “Krispy Kreme Klub” for children to do activities during their holiday break. The photo of the event list went viral after many slammed the company for failing to see the likeness the acronym has to the Ku Klux Klan. Lafeea Watson, Krispy Kreme’s PR manager, says the “misstep” was not intentional, and plans to keep an eye out for any promotional material that could offend their customers. “We are aware of the Hull store’s unfortunate naming choice for its Club program,” Lafeea Watson, Krispy Kreme’s PR manager, told The Huffington Post in a statement, “and we are truly sorry for any inconvenience or offense this misstep may have caused our fans.” “We do believe this was a completely unintentional oversight on the part of our longtime franchise partners in the UK. They have taken quick and appropriate actions to remove the materials online and in-shops, and have wholeheartedly apologized to their consumers.” The photo was removed from social media pages and the event was renamed “Colouring Tuesday.” [Huff Post] VIDEO CREDIT: News Inc. |

Nothing new here. Europe is way more racist than America is. They have big billboards that read "SAY NO TO RACISM" during the soccer games over there because fans like to throw bananas at the black and brown players and relentlessly heckle them. |
