He grilled Chuy like a motherfucker while giving his next door neighbor Rahm a pass.

This Douchebagging could be expanded to Chicago political reporters in general. These people are demanding answers from Chuy that they didn't or don't demand from Emanuel.

Rahm's answer to every financial question is that he is going to beg for relief in Springfield. Chuy should start giving the same answer: "I'm gonna go to Springfield". Good luck with that.

Why is the media demanding to know how Chuy will pay for his 1000 new cops when they never asked Rahm how he was going to pay for his (the ones that never actually got hired)?

Or the question he asked about Chuy's kid being involved in gang activity? Not cool.

Speaking to your point, almost like he planted that question for Rahm to swing in there and take the high road saying it was inappropriate

If you're gonna ask that you should ask about Rahm's kid's rumored drug issues.

Because they're horrified to think that this fair city could be run by the Frito Bandito. At least Rahm knows what he's doing, we think probably maybe.

Well, I did see Chuy giving a mini-presser yesterday with a group of guys standing behind him who looked like the Wack Pack.

Those "demands" and that interview tipped the scales for me.

It was going to be an eager vote against my Rahm-selected alderman then on to hold my nose and vote for someone for mayor. For the first time in my life I really questioned who I would be voting for. And that's as someone who once voted (in IL) for Jerry Brown.

"Maybe" would have been an honest campaign slogan.

Exactly.

I'm impressed with how many miles Chuy rode the I'm Not Rahm train without any discernable plan to make the city better.

I'm impressed with how many miles Rahm rode diverting tax dollars toward the construction of a Marriott.

Bruce Rauner provided the playbook.

  Yeah, who were those goofs? Chuy was leading the Dream Team around the city while Rahm was picking up the lunch check for Chicago's leading black ladies.

Funny thing is that he doesn't realize that in the community, they are the most dead set against him. But then again Rahm never really has understood the black community. (See: Reynolds, Mel)

Rahm should strip to the waist and threaten to kick Chuy's ass.

neither candidate knows how to fix the financial mess... it's almost as if Garcia ran just because and cant believe he's actually forcing a run-off.... because he'd probably have this thing in the bag if he would have come forward months ago with a financial plan...

he could have been on the attack right now instead of defending his own half assed vague financial plan.... rahm hasn't offered much of any discussion on his financials because he hasnt had to

If you're gonna ask that you should ask about Rahm's kid's rumored drug issues.

Let's assume both of those are true.

Are those equal in your eyes, is that why you compare them?

well in fairness a lot of gang activity often revolves around making sure kids can get their drugs.

I compare them because the implication- the very reason for the question- is that if a man cannot control his own son, how could he possibly control a city of 2.5 million people.

17 year old kid buying some pot v 24 year old gang member going after cops?

Come on..

I know its hip to be CHUY CHUY...but the guy isnt capbale of being the Mayor of Chicago.

You can hate Rahm all you want, think he doesnt do a good job.....but that doesnt make CHUY even close to more capable of doing the job.

CHUYS points should be considered and acted upon if Rahm does win. I believe that more should be done for the depressed areas of the city and a host of other issues, but I dont think CHUY created the thoughts he continues to talk about nor does he have any clue how he would implement them.

Wht Rahm has created is more of a financial base for the city that does need much further negotiation, but as JORR pointed out, all Rahm is going to do is go and ask for the relief...

Let me ask you the simple question. if you owed $5 mill to someone, who would you rather have go try and get you some relief. Rahm or CHUY?

I'm not even talking about who is the better candidate. I'm talking about the way the media is treating the two candidates. If kids are "off limits" they should be off limits. And from what I've heard it may be more than smoking a little weed. Again, the point of the question was an attempt at putting Chuy on the spot for having a son who was out of control.

Rahm's answer to every financial question is pie in the sky relief from Springfield. You and I both know that dog won't hunt. But is he getting his feet held to the fire? Hell no! Chuy's blue ribbon committee may be ridiculous but it's probably less ridiculous than demanding a tax break from a state that is broke itself.

KIDS= MINORS? Living at home? high School?

Not adults with wives and kids of their own.

I will agree the media has attacked CHUY on many issues and have come close to mocking him.

I capitalize CHUY because its not his name...it's become a chant. His name is Jesus and I would do the same thing is a guy named Harvey 'BUDDY" Richter was running for mayor and I saw posters saying BUDDY.
