I think it's a terrific tradition. It's nice to get local stars involved on a summer day, and sometimes it's just some high school team that won some championship, but it must be nice to get to do it. It's really not worth getting upset about. Do you need something that generates more revenue? |

I am serious. I think it's good light-hearted fun to have people get up and make fools of themselves. I know that doesn't jibe with the tight-ass MONETIZE EVERYTHING SERIOUS BUSINESS Theo Cubs, but having Jeff Garlin or George Wendt or whoever get up and be a ham is just fine with me. |

Ok dude settle down. This was a tongue in cheek thread after a badly sung stretch. It was just for shit and giggles. I didn't mean to upset you. |

Its fine. It was bad for a while because they got a lot of A list types at first and after that they were getting E level celebs and it seemed....desperate I like when its local little league teams etc I also wouldn't mind if they played Harry doing it on the video board |

Actually before the video board it would've been cool to play it over the loud speakers Just the "Alright let me hear ya...good and loud" and to do the 123 thing Then the crowd takes over Then at the end back to Harry saying Lets get some runs (when necessary) |

We're closing in on Harry having been gone longer than he was here if we haven't already. Let people sing. |

You know, I never really thought of it that way (fun-bad). I was just pretty pissed that they effectively replaced harry with that cuz man, growing up in the 80s/90s harry was basically everyone's drunk baseball grandpa ("there's a fly ball out to Andrew Jackson (Andre Dawson) in right") and i guess I felt like the whole thing took a part of my childhood away.. That said, man i'd be a pig in shit if they occasionally had vintage harry carry performances on the jumbotron like, say, every Sunday or sonething. Give the man his due for doing his part to help create the modern cub "thing" |

I would say that many of these 7th inning stretch meeting are Awkward |

Give the man his due for doing his part to help create the modern cub "thing" Maybe like the first or last game of the year. I find the whole Singing From Beyond The Grave a little weird, personally. I don't like it when the Flyers do it with Kate Smith, either. Maybe Hologram Tupac can do it a few nights. |

I agree that the Kate Smith thing is creepy, but I think it is different for Harry as he wasnt a singer, so we arent really there to hear him sing, its that he was so bad, anyone could do it, thus everyone join in. |

I find the "guest conductor" to be stupid, but I'm not a Cubs fan. |

When you have a guest conductor who doesn't know the name of the park (Wrigley Stadium), or one who doesn't have any idea what is going on (Ozzy Osbourne), it's time to shit can this tired bit. |

"Wrigley Stadium" was embarrassing, but for Jeff Gordon, not me. And Ozzy was one of the best! Didn't he actually sing "I don't know what the words are" or something? EDIT: it was "I don't remember what I have to sing" in lieu of "I don't care if I ever get back." Brilliant. That's great. |
