Been at ER since 1130. Was in most pain I've been in a long time. Cat scan found two small stones. Doctor is prescribing medicine and says I will be able to pass them out of me. So my questions is how much is this gonna hurt? As a side note this shot of Toradol they gave me is doing wonders.

BTDT, walking helped me the most- eased the pain and helped them pass in my opinion. Once mine got through to the bladder, passed with no effect. Hope yours go away soon, and never come back!

When the stones aren't moving down your Urethra tube they don't hurt at all, but when they move it hurts like hell. I have had 5 of them. Think of a skinny spaghetti noodle and a cuckle burr, that is a kidney stone and the tube. The good news is once they are out the pain is gone, but it is a bitch. Have fun pissing in a strainer also.

Thankfully, I do not ... but can imagine the misery and can readily agree that must suck. Ye gods man, get better soon.

You of course are aware of the Prince Song "When Doves Cry" (notable for, among other things, not having a bass line).

Prince had another song, made much more popular by Sinead O'Connor, "Nothing Compares 2 U" ... which was not the actual 'B' side to When Doves Cry, but it was enough for the joke to work.

These Norco pills don't work as well as that shot did. I'm supposed to drink a ton of water to help the pass the stones but I keep throwing up the water. This fucking sucks.

I had my last stone in October. Started Friday morning, managed through the pain until Saturday night. I had Norco that wasn't cutting it anymore. I was actually burning myself with a hotpad to ease the pain (still have the scars to prove it). Broke down to go to the ER (St. Anthony's). They were more concerned about whether or not I had Ebola than my stone. Was in the ER for two hours. Gave me Torodol which is the absolute shit. Made me get another cat scan, even though I had one the previous day and sent me home with.....more Norco. So I went to the ER b/c the pain was too severe taking Norco; they made me get tests I didn't need and sent me home with more Norco. Amazingly I woke up Sunday morning and I was fine; passed it during that night. Final cost to me for 2 hour ER visit $1800.

Post subject:  Re: Kidney Stones

Finally passed a stone this morning at 430. Pain has been on and off for over two weeks. Last Tuesday I had to leave work to go to primary care. They gave me another shot of Toradol and the pain went away again. Though the pain in recent days has been much more tolerable. Also, got the bill for the ER visit almost two weeks ago. $6400 with 5100 for the Cat Scan as part of that cost. The one good thing about being on an HMO is I only have to pay 100.

The actual passing of the stone was maybe 10% of the pain I've been feeling at its peak. I cant believe how small this stone is. I would compare it to one of those little rubber pellets you find in field turf fields. Maybe a little smaller.
