Yesterday, he said something to the effect that it was the first time in 10 years that he had buried his nose in a playbook. Added to that, I just heard a Jay Glazer clip on Carm and Jurko where Glazer said Allen called him and said he was "all in" this season after a tough year last year. Glazer said that Allen mentioned a bad environment being a contributor. Did the bad environment keep him from accepting that free agent cash that was thrown his way? Ignorance, clichés, and bad play. Quite the trifecta (in keeping with the Derby theme). What a tool. |

What? Of course he needs to learn a playbook, he's playing an entirely new position than he's done during his entire time in the NFL. All in is a cliche, but what is an athlete supposed to say. He didn't know, none of us truly did, what a complete boob Dr. Death was prior to last season. |

He took the money and didn't produce. In fact, he was terrible, illness/weight loss and all. The playbook part? OK, he was with the same teams for a number of years in KC and MIN. However, don't kiss the ass of the new regime here by admitting such a stupid thing as learning the playbook. It's a given. I like what he does in the community, but he's the Bears version of The Moth. That light goes on, and there's Jared Allen, ready to spew his "look at me" stupidity. |

go 5-11 and generally i cant imagine its going to be a pleasant working environment... if i recall after this season he can pretty much be cut without leaving too much dead money... i guess we'll see how he does this year |

If this guy has any pride, he juices up for his final year in the game and puts up some big numbers. They kept saying he was a step slow...of which he agree with. Seems he still has some moves and drive to want to get there, just doesnt have the muscle. Well, go get the muscle, have a good year and ride off into the sunset. |

For Christ's sake, I know he said it, but it means nothing. Bury your head in the play book? You're a DE. What's there to know? Rush the QB. Every now and then drop in coverage. DEs don't need to bury their head in the play book. It's pretty damn simple. He sucked cuz he's slow. No other reason. |

He will be playing outside linebacker which is much different. |
