Fire the coach and not blaming yourself for putting together this team of under achievers....then say he "probably" wouldn't have been fired if the Bulls won the Championship Bullshit the Chairman's mind was made up sometime ago. Plus John you have turned into a Smarmy son of a bitch chocking VDN and now firing a guy whom is the best coach you ever hired because he didn't listen to suggestions....so maybe the Mayor will bring the Bulls a title and if not I hope run your slimy ass out of town on a rail |

I don't know who to believe in this mess. The Bulls spin sounded pretty good and reasonable, but I can't tell if it's all BS. I guess I have the most faith in what the Chairman said via his letter. Clearly there was dysfunction, so change had to be made. That being said, I loved Thibs. |

Why does every organization Jerry Reinsdorf chairs defined by its dysfunction in upper management? |

good dolphin wrote: Why does every organization Jerry Reinsdorf chairs defined by its dysfunction in upper management? Exactly. Fire Thibs if you want. But everything with a Reinsdorfian front office turns into Mafia-style grudges. Any normal professional organization would have a simple press release mentioning "philosophical differences" and thanking the guy for the job he did. Reinsdorf and his underlings have to go to the mattresses and fire an attack. |

Foreman wanted to hire Mike Brown or Laurence Frank during the search that led to hiring Thibs, according to Woj. Paxson wanted Collins. Foreman's taste in coaches is not encouraging...wonder what it says about Hoiberg. |

and what is this organization's fascination with Iowa State? Iowa State is the cradle of average. The Bulls hire from Iowa State. Everyone wonders why the Bulls are average. |

I was in the Collins camp but Thibs won me over. Jerry got it right. Now he has allowed GarPax to fuck it up. |

If Paxson hires Hoiberg and it turns out to be the wrong hire then he should be fired. |

Thibs seems like a Jim Harbaugh type of coach. The intensity works for a few years, but eventually professional athletes get tired of being constantly ridden. Thibs is a 4 year coach max, wherever he goes unless he wins a championship (ala Coughlin of the NYG). |

i have a question about paxson: are we finally allowed to go back to the mindset where gar is nothing but a figurehead GM there to absorb the media pressure/duties of the GM job that john paxson never wanted to deal with? i remember that was the prevailing mentality/narrative when john first went upstairs and ceded the title of GM to gar, and this was backed up by b&b at the time essentially saying that this is what it is. but then as some time went on it's almost like someone from the reinsdorf camp got a hold of dan and said "STOP SAYING THIS STUFF IF YOU VALUE YOUR 'SOURCES' " because then at some random point in the future i remember b&b going out of their way to proclaim that some coaching/personnel decision was "100% a gar forman joint. this is ALL gar forman and this has nothing to do with john paxson, gar made the decision here" and i was just like "huh? .....what the fuck?" because like i said right when john first went upstairs b&b were absolutely certain that he was still calling all the shots, he just had absolutely 0 desire to deal with the media-responsibilities that comes with the GM position. now that pax was out there in the post-thibs presser certainly looking like THE DECIDER, can we go back to just assuming that this bulls team is essentially generally-managed by john paxson and gar is just the stiff/lackey there to deal with all of the stupid questions from stupid people who piss off the gift from god to an appreciate boss that is john "no questions please; i WILL choke you" paxson? |

When I am the guy who often applaudes and thanks him, points out the good things he has tried to do, etc.... |
