http://time.com/3989850/target-gender-signs/ I hope one day to live in a society where the very concept of boy or girl is made obsolete. GI Joes and transformers have brought great shame to my childhood. |

I don't care if they take down the signs but they better not completely mix up the stuff or they will get a whole bunch of letters about it anyway. Why is the world constantly worrying about people who are offended by stupid shit? Can't we just tell them to shut up and stop worrying about stupid things? It fucks up their kids more too. |

I understand your feelings but there is something to the other side. To me that story a few years back about how Lego was going to start marketing to girls was crazy. I mean how did they not already do that? Why were girls excluded? That seems weird. |

Of all the things to worry about or be bothered by, this seems insanely low. No, no problem with gender specific toys. (although id never stop any kid from playing with any normal toy) |

To me, this is another one of those things where I say to myself, who gives a shit. |

in 2nd grade mom bought me short shorts and thought i looked cute. all the kids laughed at me and said only girls wear short shorts. mom didnt care and if there was a gender tag on them i could have taken her to court for child abuse. |

I'm a member of the Free to Be generation. I have a friend who has a 16 year old son. When he was three or four she took him to buy a toy. Now this is a little kid who is pretty much getting all his info from his mom up until this point. I mean, my friend didn't even have a TV in her house. She took the kid in the aisle with the girl's dolls and starting showing him stuff he could have. He just knew somehow that wasn't right. He got agitated and said, "NO, mommy, I want a man. Or a truck." This whole thing with trying to pretend there is no difference between men and women and that anyone can choose what they are is really out of control. I don't really give a fuck what anyone does if it doesn't affect me, but it's getting ridiculous. We're at a point where a man can chop off his cock to prize fight against women and everyone is too afraid to say anything about it even after he beats an actual female to within an inch of her life. |

You must have missed the memo. Gender is a cultural construct. There is no differences between males and females. |

Yea how will you explain to your kids that genders are the same and then they grow up realizing women are dumb as shit? |

Personally, I was more annoyed at how vague "Boy toys" and "Girl toys," why not name the categories down the aisles? |

They had other girl sets in the 90s but I don't know the name. There weren't many sets and they weren't easy to find, I think. They've always had a pink set. Most of it was boy stuff until the Friends came along. I kinda think when they released some of the movie and Disney themed ones in the 2000 they realized they had a market they never really tried to get. Seacrest wrote: You must have missed the memo. Yea, I read something on a headline and just posted it This was a big story in 2011. They had marketed, but in a very small way in comparison to boys and many found the toys sexist. My point is I think it's crazy a company like that wouldnt squeeze every market dry. http://www.bloomberg.com/bw/magazine/lego-is-for-girls-12142011.html http://www.npr.org/2011/12/15/143724644/ith-new-toys-lego-hopes-to-build-girls-market https://hbr.org/2014/09/legos-girl-problem-starts-with-management And dont post super long URL's. Its poor form. You're better than that. |
