What. The. Fuck. http://deadspin.com/high-school-football-players-target-light-up-poor-offi-1728999161 "Marble Falls (Tex.) beat San Antonio John Jay 15-9 Friday night, and the above video is purportedly from that game. We have no other context to it, other than the title which alleges the umpire was targeted by John Jay players “because of a bad call.” The first hit wasn't bad enough, a second guy uses his helmet as a weapon. Amazingly, neither of these kids are in jail right now, which they should be. In related news, this is yet another reason why the state of Texas sucks. |

This is why you suspend a coach and shut down a program. |

http://www.wfaa.com/story/sports/high-school/2015/09/06/ref-targeted-players-high-school-game/71810384/ From the school district: This incident is extremely disturbing, not the sportsman like behavior we teach students at Northside ISD. We are cooperating with the UIL investigation. We will handle this incident on Tuesday morning and schedule a due process hearing which will include formal interviews with coaching staffing , the students themselves and other athletes, anyone who has knowledge of whatever was seen. The bottom line is, Northside will not tolerate this type of behavior. It does appear the athletes intentionally tackled the referee, but we have not confirmed it. Apparently they haven't watched the video? |

I think thats a solid statement and it leaves room for the kids to spend the weekend making up stories and if the area is well enough to do, to lawer up. Thats fucking terrible and I agree with Pitt Mike. Would like to see a statement from a parent. |

That first kid who laid him out didn't even flinch when it was over or pretend it was an accident. |

That ref needs to suck it up and play 60 minutes. Are those kids related to Hawk Harrellson in any way???? |

One kid hitting the ref, well that's just a dumb thing to do...But two kids ? I'm thinking it was an order from the coach. |

Either that or his coach told him to. I have coached some kids who were out of control, but the thought of one of them being capable of hitting a ref has never crossed my mind. |

So much bad there is incomprehensible. |

They honestly should be charged with battery. They can spend the money trying to defend themselves. And obviously kicked off the team, and certainly investigate the coaching staff. |

They absolutely should. They're lucky they didnt seriously injure or kill the guy. Regardless of age, if you have it in you to hit and spear a guy in no pads or helmet, you need mental help. |
Kicked off team, understandable... Booted from school? Seems harsh.
Spearing a defenseless guy with a helmet travelling at high speeds? They should not only be removed from school; they should face assault charges, and they're lucky they're not facing manslaughter charges. That shit is no joke. |

If Al Davis was still alive, he'd probably use a 3rd round pick next spring on the kid. |

Well its certainly the refs right to press charges..I'm sure he could get them to plead guilty to a slap on the wrist n get some community service. I just don't see the value in kicking these kids out of school, hell it starts tomorrow. I think an apology would be sufficient. |

They hit a defenseless, unprotected person on the field from behind and while he was down. They should be in jail. You do realize that the official could have been severely injured, right? I don't think an apology cuts. |

So, the two now are apparently claiming the referee made racial slurs at them. |

Yeah, bullshit detector is going off big time on that one. And even if it is true, they should still face criminal charges, IMO. You cant assault somebody because they called you a name. |
