Girl gets kidnapped, they just couldnt stop the guys car and he just "got away"...hey sorry about that. A River Forest police officer later saw the car driving west on Chicago Avenue, but the driver eluded an attempted traffic stop, the release said. http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/oak-park/news/ct-oak-park-kidnapping-tl-1126-20151123-story.html |

The lady was found at a hospital and is safe. Black man kidnaps a white woman in River Forest? You know they were gonna find her ASAP. |

Growing up we had a neighbor across the street who was a River Forest cop. He worked every 4th of July and got off about 11 o'clock and would come home and the trunk of his car would be full of confiscated fireworks. Needless to say we always had a great display and never had to worry about the cops. |

CPD would make us pour it out, opened or not...then laugh about it. Yep! Never arrested us for it though. I got arrested in Jackson Park with my friends, Dexter, Doug, and Tom. We had a jug of Gill's that had about an ounce of beer left in it. Dexter and I worked together at my first job out of college. He and Doug were in a great band called the Chosen Few. They backed up the Chil-Lites, Walter Jackson, Major Lance, Gene Chandler, etc. Dexter had to be at least ten years older than I was. He and Doug were serious musicians and Tom and I were punk rock kids who had only a very rudimentary grasp of our instruments. But those guys liked our passion. I think they were shocked when I took them to a hardcore show. Anyway, the cops probably saw two young white kids and a couple older black dudes and assumed a drug deal was going down. They took us to the station at 55th and State. In the back of the squad car Doug was whispering that he had a warrant and he was going to run as soon as the car stopped. Dexter and I were telling him not to. But of course he did. All hell broke loose. I had a fucking gun pointed at my head. They stuck the three of us in room and started threatening us. We all said we didn't know anything else except that the guy who ran was named Doug. This got the cops even more furious. In the meantime, the cops who had arrested us were out looking for Doug. Finally they brought him into the room. He was hiding under some stairs and some asshole African cab driver who couldn't mind his own fucking business told the cops. Doug looked awful. They had really beaten the shit out of him. One of the cops who did the beating was a steroidal ex-Marine named Patterson. He kept referring to Doug as the "Coon Charles Manson". Eventually they put us in the lock-up. All this bullshit over a half-ounce of cheap beer. There was a guy in the lock-up who wouldn't shut up. He kept demanding his human rights and a baloney sandwich. Finally, I just fucking blew and yelled, "Will you please shut the fuck up already???" All the other guys in the cells started hooting and hollering and yelling, "You tell him, whiteboy!!!" After awhile I was allowed to make a phone call. My friends Mike and Chuck lived together in Skokie. By now it was about 1:30 in the morning. Mike answered the phone. I told him what was up and asked him to bring some money down to bond us out. I heard him yell, "Hey, Chuck, it's for you!" They both ended up coming. We didn't need any money as they let us out on I-bonds. I needed a ride back to Jackson Park to get my car though. Years later I read that Patterson had been busted for malfeasance of some kind. That was a good day. |
