I thought this sin was only limited to a self-described "nerdy girl gamer" I work with that seems to engage in this grammatical douchebaggery whenever she is feeling like a petulant child. However, I've seen it used online multiple times just in the past week. For example:

"I don't want to adult today."

or

""I'm adulting today! Signed my first apartment lease!"

It's creepy and I get douche chills whenever I see the word used like this.

I'm going to adult by not saying anything immature in this thread.

100% APPROVED

I have a cousin that graduated from college last year that posts "daily adult tips". Makes me want to fly to Seattle to beat the ever loving hell out of him.

There was this girl at the airport sitting across from my wife and I when we went to Florida last fall. She was making my daughter giggle and stuff so we were talking. Turns out that she was a first year kindergarten teacher and flying by herself for the first time. In fact, she told us, "this is the first time I've made my own travel arrangements. I'm not a big fan of this whole adulting thing".

Fucking millennials.

Seems we have to make a distinction between "young adults" and what I prefer to call "old children."

Know a number of adults that use "Puzzle" as a verb and actually do believe it is a physical activity

I totes don't wanna adult tomorrow. Big Hillary rally in Grant Park, but I have to pull a double @ McDunkles instead. I'd rather be chillaxing while maxing on some 'za before supporting our next female president, but instead I'll be flipping burgers for the man while overhearing some cow with her five brats screaming for their Big Macs. #FML #MilleninalProblems

Tonight I have to adult and get a haircut and buy a new white dress shirt. Tomorrow I will have all the feels.

I don't use "adult" as a verb but I do often say, "No, I can't go see your band. I am parenting that night."
