You only hear this word during election time and it's by the media. The word means "Christians" which is the word everybody who isn't media uses. Why not just say "Christians". I never get this. Who the hell refers to themselves as an "Evangelical"? Nobody I know. I actually have grown to hate this word. "Christians", god dammit!!!!! Why won't the media use this word? |

Evangelical Christians are a specific kind of Christian, Beardown. Old-school Catholics are not Evangelicals. |

Mainline Protestants and Catholics are not evangelicals, which is why they are dying off. |

If one really believes that Jesus is the savior, isn't it his or her duty to spread the Good Word? I would suggest a true Christian must be evangelical. You guys aren't trying to hoard heaven, are you? |

Evangelicals should start adulting by waiting in line for craft beers. |

You've got you're Roman Catholics, you've got you're Lutherans, you've got you're Baptists and you've got you're Episcopalians. All Christians. There are more denominations. But I've never heard anybody define themself as an "Evangelical". So if Evangelical is a specific kind, it's a minority. Catholics are the majority of Christians in America. So shouldn't the media tell us their specific voting preferences? What they are saying in the polls? |

Evangelicals are on the nutty fringe of the Republican party, so they are important in the primaries. |

You guys aren't trying to hoard heaven, are you? Most commonly anymore, Evangelical (upper or lower case) refers to any one of numerous goofy revival movements beginning in the mid-18th century, even though on rarer occasions someone will use 'evangelical' in its more appropriate context which refers to the Greek word for gospel (i.e., good news), which would more closely resemble what your point was, well, pointing towards. |

I think Evangelicals primarily have their faith dictate their voting instead of other denominations. |

It's kind of a catch-all for Southern Baptists, Pentecostals, megachurchers, TV preacher followers, and other people who suck. The Catholic Church is damn near irrelevant in a lot of the South, don't forget. |
