Is it socially acceptable to like his music? It took a while for Nelly to be accepted as the gifted artist he was so I had to hide my love of him for fear of mocking. I am really enjoying Bruno Mars, but I am afraid that if I say it in public that I will be mocked.

Am I ok?

I think that is my problem. That song is when I started to become a fan, and then it clouded my judgement on some of the bad songs he made before.
