'Aqualung'- Jethro Tull, Aqualung

Speaking of Aqualung, the new (Nov 2011) 40th anniversary stereo and 5.1 remaster by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) is phenomenal. Wilson has performed a miracle on an album that has always been sonically weak. And not only do the songs have new life, but there is a second disc of bonus material -- including a 7-minute version of Wond'ring Aloud.

Highly recommended.

One more "Track 1" that just came to mind:

More Than a Feeling (Boston)

This track is different than the others on my list because it was from a debut album...you didn't know what to expect. My other choices represented much-anticipated albums by bands in their prime.

The correct answer to this thread is:

The first track on any album by any band you really, really like.
-or-
The first track on any album you really, really like.

Bad thread topic. Sorry Zack.

Name the great albums you like that track #1 sucks?

Sucks? I got nothing...but I'd say there is gray area between great and sucks...

Again - you still can't.

If the album is great, generally or personally, chances are track #1 is a keeper. And not by accident.

I was never a fan of Custard Pie as a #1 or Pigs on the Wing 1.

False. I don't like 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' but I listed that. I don't care a ton for Nirvana either.

Gimme Shelter- (Let It Bleed, Rolling Stones)
Band On The Run (Band On The Run, Wings)
Civil War- (Use Your Illusion II, Guns n' Roses)
Say Hello To Heaven- (Temple Of The Dog, Temple Of The Dog)*
Draw The Line- (Draw The Line, Aerosmith)
Wake Up- (Above, Mad Season)*

* The Mad Season song is so good that it took some time to move past it and onto the rest of the album. Same thing with Temple Of The Dog. I think Above is better than any Alice in Chains song, and Say Hello to Heaven is better than any Soundgarden song.
