Violent Femmes kick things off June 26th. Never seen them perform but I would imagine they would
be a pretty good show.

Looks like The Avett Brothers and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes will both be opening up for the Femmes.
Those are 3 pretty good acts to open up the festivities.

Summerfest kicks off next Wednesday. Anyone actually going? If so, who are you going to see? I'd like to make
it up for one day. The handful of acts that I was hoping to check out primarily start at 10pm on a work night
so that makes it unlikely for me to attend those. Still like to go up and check it out for an afternoon, check out
some of the shopping booths, have some food, listen to music and people watch. Did the park and ride thing
last year which worked out really well rather than trying to park close to the festival. Link to schedule below

I don't think we are going to get up there this year.

Never been to Summerfest and I'm going to the Eagles show Sunday. I have no idea what I'm in for as far as crowds go or parking. Any advice or suggestions?

When I went last year I took the Freeway Flyer in which you can catch city buses from the
south burbs and ride in that way. When they get close to the grounds they have special lanes to
get you to the gates. I found it very convenient and reasonably priced. I haven't parked down
there in years and when I lived downtown I could always cab it or take the trolley down. A lot of
construction going on up there this year.

Belvidere, was just curious how this all worked out for you. Did you park near the grounds? How was the show?

Not that it matters this year, but we typically park at the lots on Michigan and Plankington.
