Just caught a show (The Draft - 3/4ths of what was formerly Hot Water Music) at a brand new venue on the south side, Reggie's, at 2105 S State. It was pretty easy to get to, just took the Red to the Cermak stop and walked the block and a quarter over.

It's a smaller club, its floor is approximately the size of the Beat Kitchen, but it has a balcony with tables. Exposed brick and scaffolding on the inside, as well as some graffiti murals. Beers were relatively cheap, it was $4 for tall boys of Bud Diesel, High Life, and PBR, $2.50 for dirtball beers like Stroh's, Schlitz, and Hamm's. They had nicer cans of stuff like Strongbow and Boddingtons for $5, and they had even better stuff on tap, like Sierra, 312, and Fat Tire. There was a tiny blond bartender with a hot ass and an Eastern Eurpean accent slinging suds, as well.

The sound was decent, overall, it filled the venue nicely, but whoever was running the board gave an amateur effort at best. Poor vocal levels and feedback issues were problems for all 5 bands that performed. Overall though, I'd definitely go back. Apparently it has a bar/grill and a full record store adjacent to it as well.

Check it out HERE.
