Got myself 8 in the front row of the bleachers. Didn't want to do the general admission mosh pit for a 10 hour concert. Should be a great show.

I have no desire to see this despite some great acts that are performing. However, it's amazing that 3 years ago the city wanted nothing to do with live music outdoors in the summer and now Chicago is probably the #1 destination in America for just that. Lolla, Crossroads, P-Fork, The Police and drive up 90 miles north and you have Summerfest. I'd still like to see a cool gig at the Millenium Park stage

It was a great show. BB King's performance had the feel that it might be his last. He kept saying he is 81 and even talked about his epitaph. Probably will be the last time I ever see him (have seen him maybe 10 times) and the last thing I'll remember was "The Thrill Is Gone". As it should be. Some great blues guitarists, not the least of which is the very underrated Robert Cray. Robert Randolph played pedal steel as I've never quite seen. Sheryl Crow was entertaining, even if there was nobody in the crowd on headphones or roller blades. Jeff Beck played a sterling hour of lead guitar sans vocals. The young female on bass was a great accompanist to his mastery. As great a day as Derek Trucks had playing Duane Allman-like slide guitar fronting his own band and matching licks with Clapton, his wife, Susan Tedeschi, stole his set. Best female lead guitarist I've ever seen. And Steve Winwood joining with Clapton for old Blind Faith tunes was epic. MSN is running the entire 11 hour concert. There were some slow spots, as would be expected in an 11 hour show. But on balance, this was one for the ages.

Got the DVD as a Christmas gift. Excellent stuff.

Cub fan Carl Spackler acts dopey with expressions like "Let's give a downtown southside welcome" in his perfomer intros, but everything else is a really good. I even tolerated Cheryl Crowe tagteaming with Willie Nelson for "On a Road Again." Carl Spackler himself was impressive opening the fest with Gloria. Some notable acts included guys you don't hear much from on radio such as McLaughlin. Sumlin, Beck. The DVD also features the best jam rendition of "Sweet Home Chicago" I've ever heard.

Wish I was there!
