Kristin Hersh is better than all of them. Donnelly is a sideman.

I've got no beef with Donelly. She's fine. But Hersh is next level stuff. Real genius. I get that it's less accessible than "Feed The Tree."

Brandi Carlile has a couple good Soundgarden covers out there.

I have not followed her....since way back when, though I did read Rat Girl. I gotta be honest...she's one of those people I don't always believe when she talks about mental illness.

Sunburn - a great album, if only for Girl in a Box

Recently spotify threw up a song by a band with a chick singer I never heard before, The Mendoza Line.

Mendoza Line chick reminds me of Kirsty MacColl, at least vocally

The Bombpops have consistently put out good music. Their last album was a pretty big step up from the previous ones but it came out during pandemic fever and they never got to really tour for it.

A song so cool Wes Kidd turned it into "Aerosmith".

funny piss-take on the music biz, hell of an album. they even have a blast from the past 90's band site on tripod

so many good bands out of Boston and Chicago in the late 80's into the early 90's and then Boston sorta petered out after the Pixies thing

"Feed the Tree" holds up pretty well after all these years. That's a great song.

When I was around 17 I was wishing I had met Joan Jett in a bar...

Now that Brody Dalle has gone blonde, wow. She was smoking; and could sing and play as a goth/brunette, but now, she gets my vote.

I can enjoy almost every artist mentioned here already (save Patty Smyth, perhaps), but I can better relate to the chick who fronts that Hazardous Youth band...

Never heard that....that's good.

Looks like she wrote a good memoir, too.
