This is rather random.
Plant wasn't that bad. They were delayed about 2 or 3 hours, and Page was drinking to calm his nerves. During "Whole Lotta Love" his guitar is painfuly out of tune. Plus, Phil Collins sucked.
It was done at the right time, for all the right reasons, but thier reunions in the 80s sucked. If you want to see what a decade of hard drinking and heroin use can do to a legend, hop over on YouTube and search for "Jimmy Page Arms Concert." He's a drunken slop monster.
The best pat of that whole Live Aid thing is an interview after the fact. Jones and Page are giving short but honest answers, and Plant wants to do nothing but hog the mic. At one point he says, "Of course we are in the 80s, and I have my own career now." And Page just rolls his eyes. Classic
