I was just talking to my friend this weekend and AC/DC came up. Glad to see I am not the only one who
doesn't understand the love for these guys. I can't figure out if the genesis of my distaste for anything
by them is the fact that the songs often sound alike and aren't very good or that their catalog has been
completely overplayed during my lifetime. Likely a combination of both.

Annoying singer, samey songs, ubiquity in sporting events.

Speaking of sports, is "Sweet Caroline" classic rock? Whatever that shit it, it makes my blood boil, especially in BAH-BAH-BAHHH singalong form. Fuck that.

Nights in White Satin. I'm an MB fan but that song is a bit of a dirge. Dust in the Wind is another. But my all-time most hated is I'm not in Love by 10CC. The whole "big boys don't cry" nauseates me.

I would expand this thought to include the entire Bob Seger catalog. Awful.

HotRS is just awful

HotRS is just about my favorite song. Love it.

Everything by Supertramp is horrible but The Logical Song is the worst combination of noises ever sequenced.

A guy who used to work at my company used to absolutely MURDER it (not in a good hip hop way, like bad murder) at the Xmas party on the Karoke machine.

I mean just awful.

Well, it's popular at Red Sox games in Boston for reasons I can't figure. I think of "Sweet Caroline" as oldies, not classic rock, CH.

Wait a minute...94.7 WLS-FM doesn't play "True Oldies" anymore. D'OH!

We stopped the parties a few years back. (Some asshole punched a hole in the wall in the bathroom.) but I remember Goggles dancing, more than any singing he may have done.

Goggles can move. I seem to recall a blistering version of "Who let the Dogs out" by our other werid guy David, where Goggles looked like Fonzi in the Weezer video

By the way, that Fonzie in the Weezer video for "Buddy Holly" wasn't really dancing. They intertwined a lot of "Happy Days" footage and the ONLY guy who really guest starred in the video was Al Molinaro.

The one where the guy sounds like he is singing something about a douche blinding him from the light or something. That song is awful.

Brown eyed girl and desperado which were both mentioned above can also go to hell.

I don't know if this is even the name of it but the stones can't always get what you want song requires an immediate ptfb.

Close enough. "You Can't Always Get What You Want" from the Stones is what you're referring.

Actually, when I hear the Stones' "Angie", Guns N'Roses' "November Rain", Aerosmith's "What It Takes", Def Leppard's "Love Bites" & Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight", I PTFB right away.

I can't stand anything ever released by Queen. If we're only doing one song though, I pick Bohemian Rhapsody.

No it's not. I like their cover of "For You" as well.

"You Can't Always Get What You Want" is awful. It's the choir at the beginning that makes it so awful. "Angie" is pretty bad too. So is "Brown Sugar." So is "Jumpin' Jack Flash." So are any number of Stones songs.

Probably some of the Weird Al parody songs about food.

Lot of good thoughts but a lot of bad thoughts in this thread as well.

All Right Now is THEE classic rock song. If you dont like it go move to Russia.

Seger is great. I celebrate his entire collection.

AC/DC and Aerosmith can go eat a bag of dicks.

I had the one Weird Al album on tape with "White Stuff" that was a parody of the NKOTB song "Right Stuff."

I love the white stuff, baaaby, in the middle of an Oreoooo.
