they don't broadcast every band but the live simulcasts are high def goodness.

i was mocking JORR but yea, it is nice that Coachella, Lolla, Bonnaroo and ACL do such high quality web streams

Coachella's is the best though...very well done and they have 3 channels so despite the fact they have an insane amount of acts playing they actually webcast a pretty decent percentage

Mocking? I thought you were agreeing. I'm just going to watch the Hang Ups Fest on Palldium from my couch. It's more convenient. I'm a bigger fan of music than you.

Drake is the new Jay-Z

Only casually following this type of music, I'm fairly sure The Weeknd is much more popular than ASAP Rocky.

agreeing with what ?

i don't have any issue watching fests streaming on TV because i do think it's kinda cool to watch on a big TV and listen through a good sound system (mine). But festivals are a whole other subset of music....basically my feeling is when you go see a band at a club, you're going to see music played. When you go to a festival you're there to party and the music is just the soundtrack to your party . Which is perfectly fine if that's your jam, it's just different

as evidence to that, you had probably 10K people at Pitchfork watching a set by Ought, a band who can't sell out Beat Kitchen

They would sell out fast if everybody was forced to listen to Wilco across the street.

Agreeing that Youtube.com isn't a substitute for live music just like a Bears game on Fox isn't a substitute for being in Soldier Field.

Live music are better. Bumper stickers should be issued.

NFL Football is absolutly better on the 60" HDTV. College Football can be better in person.

I'm done with 10 hours of 90 degree heat surrounded by 70,000 people.

I don't think there is a band that could get me to Lolla. Maybe Radiohead, but I'd just go to see them.

they're not bad actually, i like the one album i've heard. if i'm not busy around the time of the show i might go. Btw, i'm not sure if Beat Kitchen was extra creepy because Iceage was playing or if it's always like that...i could definitely see someone getting sexually assaulted in there. Empty Bottle is obviously very divey but I get a pretty chill/homey vibe there...at Beat Kitchen it was like a serial killer vibe

Is .... is this a thing?

tl;dr people apparently will bury bottles of booze ahead of a party or music festival or something, mark it's location on GPS, and once they come to the event later on, they dig it up and gleefully consume it.

Kids today. They're so ambitious.

You could inject vodka into a bunch of oranges, and eat them.

Agree for the most part…Radiohead and I are the same as Wilco and I….meh.

A concert in a flat park is lame. Soldier Field, Alpine Valley….fine. Those places at least have some angled seated areas.

I love Metallica is most people do, but they are the laziest band in the history of music. I saw them in 1988 and plan on seeing them one more time in my life, but it sure as hell won’t be at Lolla.

Lolla just seems like an equally miserable experience as Taste of Chicago.
