The bold is absolutely false.

Anyone with a brain can tell what I meant.

It can't be false if I quoted your words. Did you misspeak? I'm doing what you do to people all the time.

You've had a bad day. Losing threads left and right. Take a snow day and recover.

Let me make this simple.

I have experienced the music of The Beatles. I was referring to me not being alive when they existed.

I was sharing my opinion, as requested. I believe I even said I understand why other people think The Beatles are great.

If you think that music hasn't ever been better than The Beatles then that is fine. However, I don't remember you even saying that music peaked with The Beatles.

I was sharing my opinion, as requested.

You also repeatedly asked people to tell you that you were wrong....and then kept saying "nobody has said I'm wrong".....even as scores of people (more than 3) kept saying "you are wrong".

You're wimping out now and saying "I think there are people making better music now".
That's a big change from how you started this thread. On behalf of all of us, you're welcome. We won't even charge you like the class you took in college did!

That's a big change from how you started this thread.

My first two posts in this thread.
Boilermaker Rick wrote:
Basically though, because the evolution of music and the increased influences from other genres have resulted in superior products which is why people listen to new music more than they do the old Beatles stuff. If the Beatles released that same music for the first time today no one would even care. We only care because they are "important" or for nostalgia.

Boilermaker Rick wrote:
One more hot take before I log off so rpb can tell me I'm a dummy.

If I had a car made in the 1950s and a car made today, the car made today would likely be a better car.
If I had a bridge made in the 1950s and a bridge made today, the bridge made today would likely be a better bridge.
If I had a house made in the 1950s and a house made today, the house made today would likely be the better house.

I'd view music the same way. Even if it is subjective to you, the evolution and improvement of music means that current music is likely better than the much older stuff. We can think the old house and car are cool but without the age being factored in we wouldn't choose to take the older one. We don't build things exactly the same way as we did in the 1950s because it isn't as good.

The Beatles could very well be making good and different music today, but the stuff they did in the 1950s is just going to be inferior to at least some modern day music.

I know "Britney Spears sucks and you are a dummy Rick!".
Note bold text specifically.

I shared my opinion. I'm clearly not saying I am the authority on music. I'm sharing my opinions like people do on a message board. You, and others, just get so caught up in the "Oh look, Rick thinks he is an expert on everything" thing that you start reading things that aren't there such as me telling everyone they were wrong. It's more that people told me I was wrong and I simply defended myself.

You said this too. "(The Beatles) music is just going to be inferior"

*I took out "1950's" because I don't they think they made music in the '50's.
You probably already knew that from that college course you took once.

I took an art history class once and have been to an art museum. Anybody want to tell me I'm wrong about the great masters? They painted a long time ago.......they sucked compared to today's graphic design computer programs.

It's pretty clear you have some sort of inferiority complex and it just oozes out of this post. That is just my opinion though!

Good call on the 1950s though! My mistake.

I have no idea how old Brick is, but this whole nostalgia thing cracks me up.
Some of us have been listening to the Beatles our whole lives, and for me, that means 40 years.
I grew up with them.
It would be like me saying a 17 year old now only listens to Nirvana for nostalgia.
No they don't.
They listen because Nirvana has been relevant for their entire life.
They've been on heavy rotation since 1991.
And the Vampire Weekend comment is just fucking lazy.
On second thought, I have absolutely no interest in your musical tastes.
What a colossal waste of time.

No, no it isn't.

Yeah, it really is.

You lose.
Wonderwall isn't even the best song on that album. There are at least 3, possibly 4, that are better.

If I'm an expert on spelling and grammar it is only because others set the bar so low.

Wow. Comparing yourself to Paul McCartney. Who is all full of themselves now?

You'd be like the third best guy from The Monkees to my Nickelback.
