Music for F-A-Gs

Turn on some Van Halen I, prove yourself ready to accept the blood and flesh of David Lee Roth.

Are you worthy to accept it? Accept the holy spirit of rock n roll?

I don't know any music by Vampire Weekend. They're probably pretty good, but SomeGuy has a point. The name of the band and the album is incredibly burrito.

It's a moderately more frenetic version of that Mumford/Dave Matthews vortex. It doesn't grab me enough to sit though it and try to figure out if it's any good.

I'm certainly not a fan of either Mumford or Matthews but each of those bands is capable of conveying emotion in a way that I have never heard/felt from Vampire Weekend.

Vampire Weekend just come off as contrived and phony. I get the feeling Knox Overstreet might play in that band.

I saw this on when it was on. That's kind of where I drew my conclusions from.

I feel like I should like this more than I do. Its catchy, imaginative, virtuosic; yet, if the FBI were trying to end an armed standoff their first step would be blaring this song repeatedly...

It's like Can and The Grateful Dead went to Nantucket, dropped some acid and booked a recording studio.
I love it.

That better describes Television. This is nowhere near that cool.

Probably people in their late twenties/early thirties who were in college at the height of Pitchfork's power. Probably a lot of crossover with people who like the Shins and Death Cab for Cutie.

I fall into exactly zero of the categories CH just listed.
DCFC is ok, I guess.
VW aren't my favorite band or anything, but the new record was pretty much worth the 6 year wait.

I taught those kids. This is spot-on.

This does not surprise me. There are A TON of stories out there about these clowns. Random people just meeting El Duce somewhere and drinking for a weekend with him and he ends up in jail or half-dead. He was a pretty cool drummer, though, when he could sit upright.

You think that's something I'd like? I did love all the Toronto/Montreal bands of the 2000s.
