I just died a little inside.

Rancid is / was nowhere near pop punk. Rancid had cred and legitimacy

Before we start bagging on Goldfinger....can we all at least admit "Here in Your Bedroom" transcends the bullshit? That song kicks all sorts of ass.

A lot of their deeper cuts ate definitely not punk-ska. Goldfinger, that is. I'm a Big Fan of Goldfinger and Rancid.

I like Rancid quite a bit, but do find the faux British accent that they lapse into every now and then a little annoying.

Isn't Lars actually British or was in a British band or something or lived there? I like Rancid's music but I can only stomach so much of Tim's awful voice. His wife's voice is even worse with whatever the hell her band is.

I like Rancid, Goldfinger and NOFX. I think they are also similar, but I was also poking fun at TM’s “died a little inside” comment.

“Punk in Drublic” and “White Trash…” are classics.

NOFX, Pennywise, Offspring....all that shit starts and ends with Bad Religion. They absolutely mastered that sound and no one has even come close.

Green Day still does a cover of Op Ivy's "Knowledge" at shows....it's cheezy, but I respect the nod. Op Ivy really was up there with Bad Religion in setting the stage.

I loved that first Goldfinger album. I played that cd from end to end so many times when it first came out. I got the 2nd album in college and remember it being great music to study to. I didn't realize until I saw them playing some zoom covid show that Mike Herrera was the bassist.

yeah, I think he joined up right before Covid. I have their first four albums. First one is awesome. Miles Away probably my favorite Goldfinger song.

One of my colleagues, in her 20s, went to see Rise Against and Bad Religion opened up. I asked her how she liked the show and she said, "I really liked Bad Religion. How long have they been around?" I just laughed. Longer than you have, sister.

When I saw Pearl Jam at Summerfest in 1995 Bad Religion was their opening band. # Button 40

Did she fall down the stairs?

I thought they were all from the Bay Area. In any event, as I said above, it comes and goes, which would tend to indicate it's some kind of affectation.

(factually speaking it's Button 48)
What's amazing about Bad Religion is that Suffer from 1988 is their Masterpiece. Five albums later in 1994 they put out what I'd consider their 2nd best album with "Stranger Than Fiction". God I love that album...still holds up all these years later.
