I just remember the New Radicals lead singer looked like a douche and their hit song was full of annoying suckage.

Shut your fucking mouth. That's one of my favorite songs ever.

I absolutely love "Someday We'll Know" for reasons. Also, "I Hope I Didn't Just Give Away the Ending" is right up there as well. Title track is interesting. "A Love Like That" should have made the album; one of the better unreleased songs out there.

And really, what it all comes down to is that you gotta love an album that begins with MAKE MY NIPPLES HARD, LET'S GO

Yeah, another band that downgraded to studio-only. Have you heard the remastered Skylarking, an album I love-love-love? And more importantly, have you seen the cover art for it? BYYYYYYYYYYYYYY CRACKY

I'm a huge XTC fan...& of course Skylarking was produced by my all time favorite musician Todd Rundgren. Andy Partridge & the Boys had numerous run ins with Todd & hated him by the end of the Skylarking recording sessions. Todd is known for running a tight ship & not fucking around in the studio...he also is known to put his mark on his production projects by adding a lot of overdubs & studio & re-recording parts himself. Skylarking is a great great album.

I think most of the friction between Todd and Andy was the result of Rundgren constantly on the studio mic in between takes trying to get them all to try the caveman diet

I know I've evangelized about this guy and his music before. I just posted a link to one of his songs in the Shirtless Driver thread. I just can't believe Arthur Russell isn't more famous than he is. They guy could play any style. He virtually invented disco on the New York club scene with the Loose Joints and Dinosaur L.

Then he did stuff like this:

Ian Moore. He was pegged as a Stevie Ray Vaughn clone in the mid 90s coming out of Austin, but he's proven to be much more than that. His voice is amazing.

This song is called Magdalena from his 2000 release And All the Colors.

Jim ellison's voice was like nails on a chalkboard to my ears.
I did see them play once at College Of Lake County.
Nothing to write home about.
I especially hate that Kim the Waitress song.

Cover of some band from out west, actually. Green Pajamas, I think? Theirs is better. The whole third Material Issue album falls flat for me, but I sure love the first two and "Merry Christmas Will Do." "Next Big Thing" should have gotten the heavy airplay any Goo Goo Dolls/Gin Blossoms song got.

While we're talking about power pop, these 2 bands did pretty well, but should've been even more successful.
del amitri and Semisonic.
Hardly a turd in either of their catalogues.

Lol, Buttleboys.
Smooth Up In Ya was a .....thing.

ETA: Bulletboys sounds exactly like Buckcherry.
2 shitty tastes that sound shitty together.

Fuckin' rock and roll, man!

I ended up going to Brooklyn last week to see the reunion show for this band. It was fucking insane from start to finish. Here's a vid someone took from the show. I was definitely covered in sweat, beer, and probably other bodily fluids by the end of this show.

I actually did get sick when I got back, and got a bit of a shiner from being kicked in the head by a crowd surfer.
