If you're only going to see one 5 hour opera this year, make it this one. Plus, odds are it will be a while before anyone else puts it on. Dido and her sister's duet after the first intermission is remarkable and the highlight of the production. Could have done without the dancing interludes, but it never dragged, despite the length. To be fair, since we saw it opening night it went a little faster than scheduled since they tend to get overexcited. The Lyric Opera building still needs some massive renovations, but it's nice to have in the city.
