Anyone here into Matisyahu? I was recently introduced to this guy when I heard a CD my sister burned for my parents; it had the song "Chop Em Down" on it, which was sufficiently catchy to get me to further investigate. After hearing the rest of the live CD, I must say I'm a fan. This guy's really talented.

I love that song "Warrior." Been stuck in my head all damn day long. Also, if you have a sub in your car, this is good cruising music.

By that same token, you've never understood my complete dismissal of Refused.

First, I'm a huge fan of Matisyahu. Doug what made you think I'm THAT big a fan of that album? I do like music that isn't the same old processed and canned crap and that one fits but it definitely isn't the end all in my book. Really good but not great.

Also if anyone is interested in his music post here. I have a few of his cds and will upload them and post the link if you want. Oh, and a bit off topic, the new K-Os cd is one of the best I've heard in the last 5-10 years.

Well, obviously I am. :P I just have the Live at Stubb's CD. Listening to the whole CD a couple times through, I'm realizing that he's a much better musician that I initially thought. The beatboxing is a entertaining plus; you don't see a lot of that today.

The beatboxing and the song "king without a crown" is the only thing good i heard on his CDs... Outside of that hes a novely act. A hasidic Jewish reggae rapper is what WWE is to real fighting.

Only if you're looking at it from the perspective of pidgeonholing all music into specific genres; that, I have little interest in. The bottom line, in my opinion, is that the music is entertaining, and he's a very talented musician. Brad Nowell heard a lot of the same criticism (in other words, if you don't enjoy the music, that's valid, but I don't believe the 'novelty act' criticism to hold much water).
