Post subject:  Most Annoying Fans
I posted a comment in another thread about the band Rush, and how their fans are pretty annoying and get pissed when anyone mentions they aren't Rush fans. (For the record, I think Rush are ok, but a bit overrated.)

That got me thinking, what famous artist or band has the most annoying fans when it comes to the band's defense or just overall annoyingness? They can even be acts you like. You might just hate their fans.

My tops would probably be:

- Bruce Springsteen
- Bob Dylan
- Phish
- The Grateful Dead
- Pearl Jam

Great thoughts.

I'd say Bob Dylan and Phish fans rank 1 and 2.

Bob Dylan fans are just wrong, and Phish fans are like vegans and Crossfitters. You find out about their fandom immediately and every 15 minutes for the remainder of their time on earth.

The Beatles and Radiohead. Both are great bands but the people who identify most strongly as fans of each tend be obnoxious as hell.

:lol: Agree with that. The thing I hate about Dylan fans is how they can never admit that his voice sucks or that him mumbling for 30 minutes does not make for a great concert.

Pearl Jam. It's the obsessive, completist, taping, traveling culture of the Dead and Phish, but instead built around music to lift weights to.

But nothing is worse than the cultural force of bratty white girls who move to Brooklyn and become obsessed with Beyonce.

Haha. The Juggalos are at least comical, though. The fact that they take themselves seriously while dressed like that is enough to at least move them up a few notches. Lack of self-awareness is their greatest strength. Sort of like Kid Rock fans.

I can't dispute virtually all of the nominations here, but I'd add in a large swath of Sinatra fans.

I like him but damn If a massive percentage of his fans don't go over the top about his "greatness"

Dylan fans aren't annoying. They are kinda like him at this point, they are just there.

There is a faction of Pearl Jam fans that are insufferable. For the most part, at least in my experience, they don't push PJ's music on you like its the second coming of God playing a guitar as Radiohead fans do. footballteamgreg can attest to this.

Dave Matthews fans are probably the douchiest fans around.
