Dan Fogelberg (R.I.P.) does not deserve to smell your shit.

Always get him mixed up with Cat Stevens.

No, you're thinking of Harry Chapin.

Sometimes I think its a shame, when I get feelin' better when I'm feelin' no pain.

Man.....great line. And:

"When you reach the part where the heartaches come
Come the hero would be me;
Heroes often fail.
And you won't read that book again
Because the ending's just to hard to take."

He could’ve stopped making music after Early Morning Rain and still be better than 99% of what’s out there since .

I have a sinking feeling Peoria Matt is going to start in with the Edmund Fitzgerald quips.

Right after he drops the scoop about Dan Fogelberg's passing.

No quips. He was one of my Dad's favorites.

If You Could Read My Mind is quite a song. It's amazing how I appreciate songs now that I used to think were crap.

Cat Stevens is awesome. Lightfoot isn't fit to clean his prayer mat.

That fucking boat needs a movie with a curvy starlet and the new Leo DiCaprio, whomever that is. That was awesome when he was like, "I'm king of the world!" Kate Winslet is hot. They should make a Thor Heyerdahl movie, too.

This is good.

For me it’s “I don’t know where the feelings gone, and I just can’t get it back”.

Favorite Lightfoot line is from Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald:

"Does anyone know where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours?"

Favorite song by him, though, is Carefree Highway.

This song has good lyrics I think:

In the early mornin' rain
With a dollar in my hand
With an aching in my heart
And my pockets full of sand
I'm a long ways from home
And I missed my loved one so
In the early mornin' rain
With no place to go

Out on runway number nine
Big seven o seven set to go
Well I'm stuck here on the grass
Where the pavement never grows
Now the liquor tasted good
And the women all were fast
There she goes my friend
She'll be rolling down at last

Hear the mighty engines roar
See the silver wing on high
She's away and westward bound
Far above the clouds she'll fly
Where the mornin' rain don't fall
And the sun always shines
She'll be flying over my home
In about three hours time

This ol' airport's got me down
It's no earthly good to me
And I'm stuck here on the ground
As cold and drunk as I can be
You can't jump a jet plane
Like you can a freight train
So I best be on my way
In the early mornin' rain
You can't jump a jet plane
Like you can a freight train
So I best be on my way
In the early mornin' rain
