Especially the version with Arthur Russell wailing on his cello:

Yeah, I think that's my favorite one too. Straight outta Wall Street. This version by MGMT is good too:

The 1978 Tour represents peak Talking Heads as far as my tastes are concerned. Take a listen to this live version of “The Big Country” from one of their Chicago dates in September:

Definitely my personal favorite.

There are something like 50 FM broadcasts & soundboards in circulation from 1975-1980, and you can find pretty much every single one of them on Dime & Trader’s Den. Hell, I’m seeding a combined 30 on both sites right now. I find it pointless to go back to the studio material because the live shit blows it out of the water.

"This Must Be the Place" is not only their best song but one of the best songs ever (by which I mean one of my favorites, natch).

But really, I can't pick and rank from the first five albums. Just about everything is a winner. More Songs About Buildings and Food, you're compelled to play straight through every time (or at least up through "Stay Hungry").

Any of these:

"Memories Can't Wait"
"Heaven"
"The Big Country"
"This Must Be the Place"

This Must Be The Place is indeed awesome. This might be blasphemy, but the first minute or so has a Scarface soundtrack vibe.
