Anyone catch a set of theirs?
I saw them close to home at Sideouts (Island Lake).
Nice show. Actually bought one of their CD's. If you like Phish or the Dead you'd like these kids. Rumor has it they're from EIU, but they've avoided the Jurko curse.

I caught a Blotto show last year and have been listening to them ever since. They have a jam, not sure if you know it (?), "Kiss me in the morning" that is the prettiest song I have heard in a long time. I hear they play "Blatoppia" every July in Elgin. Have yet to go but it is on my list of "things to do before I die".

So, it's worth the trip, huh? Well, I guess it would be, they do rock.

For the price it is. If we are just talking music festivals though you need to check out 10,000 Lakes Festival in Minnesota, Bonnaroo(obviously) in Tennesee, and Summer Camp in Chillichothe, IL.

Hm. Never been. Same kind of music? Not that it matters, I can find a liking in most music.

Similar music styles but in my opinion better talent. Phil lesh & Friends, Gov't Mule, String Cheese Incident all went to 10K Lakes Festival, and it was incredible.

Well, thanks for the tip. Maybe I'll check 'em out one of these days.

I saw Mr. Blotto once at Dreams in Lockport (before it burned to the ground... Dreams, that is, not the city) and it was really interesting. I'm not huge into Phish or the Dead or whatever, but they brought a HUGE following.
