Frightened Rabbit’s Scott Hutchison Reported Missing

Concerns raised over Scottish singer-songwriter’s welfare

The family of Scott Hutchison, the singer-songwriter behind Scottish indie-rock band Frightened Rabbit, have reported him missing, the BBC reports. Hutchison, 36, was last seen this morning at the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry, Scotland, around 1 a.m. UK time. He is believed to have left for the nearby city of Edinburgh, where police are appealing for information on his whereabouts.

Late last night, Hutchison posted a pair of tweets raising concerns over his welfare:

Scott Hutchison

@owljohn
Be so good to everyone you love. It’s not a given. I’m so annoyed that it’s not. I didn’t live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved ones.

I’m away now. Thanks.

The band later appealed for information:

Frightened Rabbit

@FRabbits
We are worried about Scott, who has been missing for a little while now. He may be in a fragile state and may not be making the best decisions for himself right now. Please could Scott or anyone with any information on his whereabouts please contact Police Scotland (101).

Inspector Graeme Dignan told the BBC: “We are keen to locate Scott as soon as possible to ensure he is safe and well and would urge anyone who can assist with our ongoing inquiries to come forward. If you believe you have seen him since the early hours of Wednesday morning or know where he currently is, then please contact police immediately. I’d also urge Scott to get in touch with family, friends or with police, to let us know he is alright.”

Hutchison was last seen wearing “a dark baseball cap, navy blue hooded jacket, grey or khaki trousers and white trainers,” according to the BBC.

Frightened Rabbit have released a string of well-received records in the last 12 years, including their 2008 breakout, Midnight Organ Fight. After their latest release, 2016’s Painting of a Panic Attack, Hutchison had indicated a new album is under way. He also released a solo record called Owl John in 2014 and, last month, an album with Editors and Frightened Rabbit members, under the name Mastersystem.

Yeah, this isn't good at all.
I know virtually nothing about him, but I bought "Painting Of A Panic Attack" on a whim a couple years ago just based on the fact one of the twins from The National produced the album. It turned out to be one of my favorite albums of 2015. I relate(d) to that guy and a lot of his lyrics. I am hoping he turns up safe.... :(

*2016, not 2015.

No, it's not weird, I had never heard of them until like 2 years ago, but they were pretty massive in Scotland, where they're from.
They have a very beloved album called The Midnight Organ Fight that came out 10 years ago and I've never heard it. I just know their 2016 release. I'm gonna listen to TMOF tonight if I can stop listening to Beach House.....

I really hate that entire musical genre.

Not big here. I barely heard of them and couldn't name song one. Been listening today, though. Not what I usually listen to, but they're worth listening to.

What a shame.

I know this isn't the thread to discuss Beach House but I have the record on now...I had already heard and liked the songs that were released already, I'll have an opinion on the rest shortly

Modern Leper is a fucking jam even though its arguably a proto-Mumford and Sons type tune.

Good fucking grief....
I've been seeing references to their song "Floating In The Forth" all day.
I've just listened to it.
I'm a mess.
