Post subject: | Question for Guitar Players |
I've got a really Ffucking annoying buzz in the strings on my Les Paul, stemming from what sounds like closer to the bridge. I've changed the strings once since I've had the thing (replacing them with a gauge similar to what was on it to begin with) and have just recently noticed the buzz. Open chords are fine, however barre chords and anything higher than the fifth fret cause the buzz. Is this an issue that can be remedied by simply trying a different gauge, or is this a hardware issue? |

how is the neck? it sounds like a simple 1/4 turn of the truss rod. what tuning are you in? any lower than Dropped D and you probably need the action reset and some intonation done. what size strings? .46 gauge on the 6th? |

The neck is fine, and I do use .46 gauge in standard. |

well, if the neck is fine then i suspect that the change in weather has something to do with it. based upon what you're saying the difference is miniscule, correct? you may need a slight saddle adjustment at the bridge to "lift" the strings that millimeter they need. are all the strings buzzing or just 4-6? |

It really just sounds like 3-4, actually. The weather may be a factor, or at least the humidity of my condo. I have been noticing that the strings, when out of tune, are almost exclusively sharp. |

I have a similar problem on my acoustic, so if you figure it out, post it. Unfortunately, my acoustic also suffers from badly dented frets; have any of you guys ever re-fretted a guitar? |

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm resigned to. It wasn't an expensive guitar by any means, so I guess I'll just get another when I can't stand it anymore. |
