I dig some Jethro Tull but King Crimson is the far more accomplished band. I especially like the Discipline/Beat/Three of a Perfect Pair trilogy with Adrian Belew and Tony Levin. Chapman stick!!

Rundgren to me belongs in as a producer...not a performer. Whitney Houston and Biggie will probably get in...although, maybe things are a little different since Jann Wenner isn't the chairman anymore. DMB should be launched into the sun.

Dave Matthews Band was one of the first "serious" bands I remember liking. Consider the top 40 landscape at the time and it's more defensible. What's not defensible is the lyric "hike up your skirt a little more and show your world to me," which is firmly entrenched in the top of the Worst Lyrics Ever list.

Not surprised. The Blink is still popular with kids today. I always get a couple of requests to play their songs (when asking students to list songs with which they connect). I suppose they are trying, but I can't stand their music.

Dave Matthews was that guy in freshman year English glass that understood the significance of Piggy's broken glasses in Lord of the Flies on a much deeper and tedious level than the rest of the class, but never evolved beyond that.
