Not sure if this is the best or worst cover. Certainly one of the oddest choices (especially considering the original lyrics.)

Intruder is a killer intro.

Natural Born Killers used this song perfectly.

It's clearly Bowie/Jagger's abomination

ope, I'm late to this shit party.
American Woman - Lenny Kravitz
American Pie (that song was already terrible) - Madonna
Anyone not named Jeff Buckley that has covered Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah".
I'm sure there are plenty I could list. Maybe tomorrow...

The one I personally I hate the most would be Rascal Flatts "Life Is A Highway". Not only was the original song crap....the cover came out only a handful of years after the original. Awful.

Do you have ears?

Led Zepplin - The Lemon Song, Whole Lotta Love, Traveling Riverside Blues or most of the other dozen songs they ripped off from Willie Dixon, Robert Johnson or other bluesmen.

At least the Stones gave credit and support in recognition.

You're like the Joe DiMaggio of incredibly bad takes. Quite a streak you have going.

I think I heard Sting's version before I ever heard Jimi's original and I taught myself about 15% of Hiram Bullock's solo, that's how much I loved it ----many years ago. I'll have to revisit it, it's been a while.

Exactly....terrible take by Harvard Dan.
Sting's cover is a complete 180 degrees opposite, yet still similar enough....and yeah, that solo was fucking awesome.
