Quality album. The Foo Fighters wish they could produce the A + melodies John Rzeznik offers us here.

The half of the album that Rzeznik doesn't sing on is pretty bad, but "Iris," "Slide," "Black Balloon," "Broadway," and "Bulletproof" on one album is a pretty big achievement for an era when a lot of CDs were very heavy on filler.

Except that We Are The Normal is weak.

Long Way Down is a decent enough song, but overall they're about as overrated as the Foo Fighters.

They're way better than the Foo Fighters. They have songs. Jed is a good record and Hold Me Up is a masterpiece.

As far as I'm concerned, Everlong, all by itself, makes Foo Fighters properly rated.

JORR has solid points on Grohl. Foo are overrated. I get all that.
They're not terrible....just overrated and Grohl is annoying with his ass-licking of the industry and over-exposure.

I have the same feelings about the Eagles. I hate them....variety of reasons, but I can acknowledge they had good songs and are one of the best American bands of all time.

Eagles are kinda dooshy. Foo Fighters aren't. They were just too mainstream and that bothers music aficionados.

No one is more overrated than music aficionados.

I don't think that's exactly right. I wonder why Foo Fighters are mainstream when guys like Garth Liddiard or Dorian Taj aren't.

The Foo Fighters are just critically acclaimed Nickelback. They're both derivatives of Nirvana, one just has a more justified claim to the throne.

What do you think is good about them? They have twenty albums and maybe three songs.

"Everlong" may be pretty decent but it's not something to build a career around like "Brandy" or "96 Tears". It certainly shouldn't get you to the Hall of Fame before the guy who wrote "Unsatisfied" and "Bastards of Young".

"Everlong" is a great song. "Big Me" is good. "Learn to Fly" isn't bad but mostly I just have warm feelings for everything that was on top 40 radio in 1999-2000. IGODDANOTHERCONFESSSSSSSIONTOMAKE is one of my most immediate ptfb songs and they should be disqualified from HoF consideration on that song alone. Westerberg should be in on "Alex Chilton" alone.

I understand where you are coming from. You are talking to me like I'm a Cub fan. I get it. But I'm going to put plexiglas around Everlong and I'm not going to apologize for doing so.

David Letterman loves Foo Fighters. Says pretty much everything you need to know about both people involved.
