Post subject:  Benefit Concert and More

I was going to put this in the complain thread but thought it might get more meaningful attention or traction here. Like me or not I am passing this along. It is about a lifelong friend of mines husband. He is a musician. He has been a very good drummer for many years. His specialty in his adult life was drumming for bigger shows of tribute bands. Bad Medicine, Motley II and he was Alice Cooper in Cooper's Dead Things.

At any rate he is found now to have ALS and things are looking bad. There is a benefit show, hockey playing benefit (he was a goalie) and a Les Paul raffle. If you have heard of them or are ever around SW burbs especially Bourbon St maybe you can help out? Thanks for reading.

Yeah I've seen this on my FB feed a few times. ALS and Alzheimers/Dementia has to just be a terrible way to go.

My guys over at Players Guitars in Worth have tickets for the Les Paul raffle. My Dad got two tickets last week when he was in there getting some work done on one of his axes.

Man, that sucks. ALS took a friend's mom a couple years ago. Brutal disease.

It is surprising to me how he goes from drumming rock and goal tending to not able to do most anything in a snap. Three kids and grand kid too.

Those dudes at Players are the absolute goods. They know anything and everything guitar, and charge pennies on the dollar for their time and effort. I'm almost amazed they stay in business since they never charge what they could/should for repairs

The decline is exponential. I can attest to that firsthand. The rapid deterioration takes a couple of weeks.

Due to the virus and shutdown they had delayed the raffles and benefit until August I think it is.

At any rate, my friend's husband passed away seemingly very quickly from ALS last night or early today. RIP Tom Salzburg. Leaves behind wife, three adult children a grandson and many loved ones and friends.
