I was driving home this evening and a Foreigner song was on the old radio. I thought to myself it is catchy. They have many hits. More than say Def Leppard. So why no Hall of Fame for Foreigner but Diana Ross and any number of dumb 60s groups are in?

That’s the point. There is a lot of mediocre. They sold a shit ton of albums. I am just wondering the criterion. Like 3000 hits in baseball.

They're not even equivalent to Mark Grace.

They're in the Hall of the ok.

I know you are probably 15 years older than me but I love music.. 60-90 was the best era... Foreigner was one of the worst POS bands ever produced... Right up there with the doobie bros.

Foreigner wrote some great songs. Cold as Ice has one of the greatest opening hooks ever. Lou Gramm is awesome.

I’d say borderline HoF, but they are better than MANY that are in.

Did not like them when they were active. They and Air Supply sort of fit into the same category. LIke a B rock and roll out fit.

But since their hey day i have liked their songs. Some of their songs have really stood the test of time and I do like listening to them when I hear them on radio.

Hot Blooded is an example.

Yeah, there are plenty of worse bands in the HOF. They had their share of hits.

I’ll derail this and apologize in advance.

But this just made me think about when I took Dr. Ken Jr. I out in a ‘70s classic car when he was about 5 years old or so and he was amazed that the radio was playing current music since the radio was so old.

They are a band everyone knows but nobody would list as one of their all time favorites. A lot of people (myself included) look at baseball HOF nominees in terms of whether they were considered one of the greats during their peak era. I don’t know that Foreigner meets that criteria.

Young Furious spent many hours drumming along to their earlier tunes. But then they neutered drummer Dennis Elliott and moved on from some talented original members. I grew up watching the Monkees and figured every band was a merry group of friends that would weather any storm together.

Until Foreigner.

You claim to love music and then list 60-90 as an era? :drunken:

Didn't they putt Mutt Lange in the HoF? He produced Foreigner/Def Leppard/Cars 80's/Bryan Adams/ both the last Bon Scott and first Brian Johnson AC/DC records. Probably sufficient.

Yeah.. 1960 - 1990 was the best era.

If foreigner was a baseball ball player it would be Mario Mendoza.

Refreshed by going through their hits. Pop bubble gum rock. Few extended guitar solos. "Urgent" is a classic and still holds up.
