There is a Greatest Hits Remixed album on Spotify that sounds like it was mixed by the drummer.

Big fan of Fight the Good Fight and Lay it on the Line.

That's where I'm at with this band. I always found Magic Power to be pretty weak. I put together a Triumph mixtape in college and, even then, I only focused on those two songs.

Young Furious liked big drum kits back in the day and kind of dug Gil Moore's roundhouse tom fills in the context of those two songs, but nothing as inventive as say John Pannozzo (RIP) from Styx.

Awhile back some cable station had on the different days of the US Festival on consecutive nights. I happened to be watching "Heavy Metal Day" and Triumph was playing. My wife walked in and said, "This band is terrible."

What is your opinion of the replacement drummer for Styx, Todd Sucherman?

Super-talented drummer, super-nice Chicago guy, but much like Matt Cameron in Pearl Jam, sounds like a session drummer in the context of the band. To be fair, I haven't spent much time listening to what they do now. Even though I have no interest now, I like that bands like Styx and Kansas play deep cuts for the die-hard fans vs. mailing it in.

IMO the internet is responsible for the homogenization of modern drumming styles. Guys like Bonham, Peart, Copeland, Watts, Moon, etc. all had there own easily recognized sound.

Guys like JoJo Mayer, Benny Greb, Ash Soan and Larnell Lewis are doing inventive, mind-blowing shit and I'd much rather listen to them doing new things.

That was was my favorite band back in the day. One of the loudest concerts I ever saw circa 1982 or so. Foghat warmed up for them.

Rock You was a good song. "Gimme an R, O, C, K, watcha got? Rock!!!" Now that's how you write an anthem.

Yeah I was doing a Trailer Park Boys bit. There's an episode where Ricky keeps getting Rush, Helix, and April Wine confused.

I always kind of liked April Wine. That one where they play the Beatles riffs on the outro is pretty cool.

I Like to Rock has the Daytripper outro. Roller is alright as well.

I have a band concept that I've been noodling with. Going to call it April Winehouse.

Isn't there another song too? Like one guitar is playing "Daytripper" and the other one is playing "Satisfaction"? I'm gonna pull it up on Youtube right now. If I remember correctly one of the guys is wearing a Loop t-shirt.

Same song. I think it was Miles Goodwin the singer in the LOOP shirt. I watched that video too many times.

It looks like Banger Films is working on a Triumph documentary. This is a big deal. They're the guys that did Flight 666, Beyond the Lighted Stage, and Super Duper Alice Cooper. They always do a great job.

Definitely. Love Triumph. Was tryin to see Rik Emmett solo a few years ago and failed. Then he reitred shortly after.

Apparently he was planning to get back out there this year and then we all got Pritzkered.

So we'll see.
