In this world of streaming and shuffling and playlists. Do you ever listen to Albums/CD as laid out by the artist?

I do around once or twice a week, especially with older acts when there was a method to how it was put together. Artists like Pink Flyod and Rush deserve to be listened to in the way the album in laid out.

When at home that is the only way I listen. While I don't buy them anymore, I have a pretty large collection of CD's and a number of ways I can play them when home. At work I have been relegated to just shuffling Pandora stations on my wireless headphones. Not usually at my desk long enough to listen to an album uninterrupted when there.

If it's an album where the tracks are meant to flow (and actually transition into each other, like Dark Side of the Moon), then often the answer is yes. But you also have to remember that the track list on an LP was sometimes made for technical considerations and not artistic (i.e. shooting for 20 minutes per side). So for many albums, the track order isn't consequential...and of course, many albums have a lot of filler. Also, even though I own a lot of CDs, now with streaming I'm more likely to skip around and listen to a variety of songs instead of being limited to what I own. Having said that, if I'm listening to DSOTM or Operation: Mindcrime, it's in the original order.
