So I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the GD section...

I went to see the Gypsy Kings at Ravinia last night. Now I wasn't too familiar with their work, but the tix were free and hanging out drinking on the lawn at Ravinia is always a good time.

The band was OK. I wasn't terribly impressed with them though. BUT, the reason why I highly reccomend that you all go and see them is that they attract some amazing women in the crowd.

Holy crap! I was there with my wife so I managed to keep my gaze straight ahead, but otherwise I would have gotten whiplash. One hot woman after another standing, walking by, or dancing around. And, it must have been a promotional "Paint Your Pants On" night. It reminded me of an old joke:

How can you tell if Helen Keller's pants are on too tight?

You can read her lips.

In summary, go to one of their shows, if not for the music, then definitely for the scenery!

Killer - you just gave my wife and I a hell of a laugh.

We are going tonight and I said to her "Look honey. A review of tonight's show!"

I started to read it out loud and when I got to the part about the hot chicks I just kept reading. She started busting up at the end, b/c she figured that whomever wrote this must be single. After the out loud laughing ended she said, "So that's what you guys write about on that board. Nice."

Thanks for getting our Sat. morning off to a great start. Classic stuff!!

We aims to please!

About the show, like I said, I didn't know much about them before I went. I knew their music was, for lack of a better term, "salsa-esque."
They played two sets with a brief intermission.

Overall, I wasn't terribly impressed. Maybe it was their choice of songs to play for the evening (or maybe it's their style), but the music was extemely mellow. I was expecting something a little more upbeat.

But as I said, other than the music, I had penty of other things to keep me occupied!

Have fun tonight!

The girlfriend had tickets for Saturday, I had an early afternoon round planned at HPCC. Both got canceled in favor of a dinner and a movie with another couple. Effin' rain!
