I do really enjoy Modest Mouse (The Moon and Antarctica is one of my favorite discs, period), but this show has more than a few reasons working against it for why I won't be going.

1) The Congress blows.
2) The ticket will end up being approximately $42 after Ticketbastard cornhole fees.
3) I was unimpressed with Modest Mouse's stage show at Lollapalooza.

I know a guy who knows a guy who knows the guy who owns the Congress, so if some strings can be pulled and I can get in for free, I'll go, but otherwise, I'm probably going to pass.

After the Shins last year, I refuse to go to the congress in the winter.
Having to wait in that slow moving line to get in is fucking dumb, and I'm getting too old for that GA crap.
Your choices are freeze outside or broil inside.

I enjoy its decrepitude. Certainly it's no worse than the Riv or the Vic.

True, they are all approximately equal in their dilapidation, but the Congress' incredibly high ceiling makes for a horrible aural experience.

The balcony at the Congress wins the award for most seats with ripped off cushions. It's high comedy watching someone sit on the rusty metal base for 2+hrs and then rush out for a tetanus shot.
