My wife REALLY likes them, we saw them at Metro a year or so ago. They kept saying before each song "This one is a cover" hahah

To me, and this is not indicative of my views on punk in general, most of covers by punk bands are really straightforward and they all sound the same to me. A cover is only good to me if it adds something to the original and should be different in some way, otherwise what's the point. I just realized I forgot Stars version of "This Charming Man", which is a good example, it's like a trip-hop version that just samples the actual guitar riff in the chorus. It's great.

Bizare love triangle by frente comes to mind as a bad cover.
Boys of summer was the Ataris, I think.

Another worthless remake by this band: "Plaster Caster" from the "Kiss My Ass" tribute album.

I didn't think that Mrs. Robinson was that bad of a cover. It's also featured in Wayne's World 2.

I'm would venture you could say that about 99% of all tribute albums. I'm sure there's one or two good ones but I can't think of them off the top of my head

Most of the covers I have heard of Brubeck's Take Five have been pretty good.

The Pixies Tribute is solid. Encomium is hit and miss.
