Post subject:  Favorite Music Videos

I'm gonna list a TON here, sorry. I haven't watched music videos in a while but these ones always stick out in my mind...whether it was being confused and creeped out but totally fascinated by Genesis' "Land of Confusion", loving Spike Jonze's beautiful contributions like "Buddy Holly" and "Sabotage", staying up late watching Headbanger's Ball when I was a teenager, or THE greatest video of all time, Michael Jackson's "Thriller", I will now list (linked) my favorite videos of all time...so far:

Ween - Roses Are Free

Ween - Transdermal Celebration

DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince - Parents Just Don't Understand

Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy

Cold - Stupid Girl

Avalanches - Frontier Psychiatrist

Weezer - Buddy Holly

Pearl Jam - Jeremy

Radiohead - Paranoid Android

Blink 182 - All the Small Things

Primus - Winona and Her Big Brown Beaver

Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer

Genesis - Land of Confusion

Aerosmith - Cryin'

Entombed - Wolverine Blues

Beastie Boys - Sabotage

Morbid Angel - God of Emptiness

Tool - Sober

Ice Cube - It Was a Good Day

Paul Simon - You Can Call Me Al

They Might Be Giants - Istanbul (Not Constantinople)

Michael Jackson - THRILLER

TOP THAT!

They still make music videos? I thought that was passe, like vinyl and 8 tracks.

Being a big fan of Beavis and Butthead back in the day, I still get a laugh out of the detachable penis video.

The have videos for music now?

Sounds kind of pointless for me.

Music is meant to be heard.

"It's Oh So Quiet" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8Z1MpcyqQU

The first two are by Michael Gondry whose music videos are always great. He also directed "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."
Daft Punk - "Around the World
Chemical Brothers - "Let Forever Be"
Youtube doesn't really do this video justice, but it's quite outstanding on TV
Madonna "Ray of Light"
A video I'm endlessly amused by
Wubble U - "Petal"
Because I'm a sucker for break dancing
RUN-DMC vs. Jason Nevins - "It's Like That"
The funniest thing I've seen on TV this year
Sarah Silverman - "I'm Fucking Matt Damon"

My Dear Friend FatFavreFan,
I cannot believe you. I cannot believe you said that. What kind of fanboy are you? You actually said Touch of Grey. My, my, my. Ask a read Grateful Dead fan like Coast2Coast and see if that answer is acceptable. Are there other deaders out there? I know this is not right. You were going fine there in J.A.C.K.s world until a saw that.

Your Friend who recommends you never say that again,

Its not my favorite song by them but my friend Bruce was at the concert when they told them they were going to record their first music video. They ended up staying till 5 or 6 AM and played the song like 100 times so they could get the video right, and all of the fans you see stayed there the whole time to watch it. he said it was pretty cool but they alll hated the song for like the next 10 years. Anyway I know its not the most "deadheadish" song out there but its a good tune still.

My Friend Farts
I tell you that I do not take issue with your choice of song. I personally loved the Arista years and this was among the top 20 of that time. My issue is with the video. You saying this is a top video is like a Metallica fanboy saying he loves the "One" video. I do not understand you, but I still love you.

Your Dear Friend,
Evil J.A.C.K.

Great song (though it reminds me too much of the Seattle Seahawks) but yes it is an odd video. I do, however, need to visit his neighborhood. In 4 minutes he walked past more nice looking women than I see in a week.

Thriller is probably the best.

Notorious BIG feat 112 - Sky's the limit. They use kids for the video since BIG had died by then.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZDbbvVy7eaU

2 pac - Do for love - The use CGI and cartoon images since Pac was dead.

Queens Of The Stone Age - "Go With The Flow" - Done before Apple hijacked this animation effect for iPod commercials. So much thinly veiled sexual innuendo.

The Lawrence Arms - "An Evening Of Extraordinary Circumstance"
Rise Against - "Swing Life Away"

Both have great neighborhood shots of the city.

That semi-hot, semi-troll looking chick from the early 90's singing "I Touch Myself" was a classic. Then again, Video Killed the Radio Star and Youtube killed the TV video so what does it matter.

Asia, "Heat of the Moment" all time worst.

Gotta run, Old Country Buffet is having buy-one-get- one special on Meatloaf tonight.
