Jerry Lee Lewis looked and sounded awful.
Kanye had a couple weird moments.
Amy Crackhouse had an odd performance.
Little Richard looked like a cross between the crypt keeper and Tammy Faye.

I only saw a few minutes, and it happened to be when Tina Turner was performing with beyonce, and that was really weird....Tina looks different, must have had a lot of work done

Herbie Hancock is the first African American to win Album of the Year from the jazz genre?! Is that right?
The only other jazz recording to win AOTY is Getz/Gilberto from the 1960s... Jeez, but that is pathetic.
Then winning it for an album of Joni Mitchell covers jazzed up is a whole different matter, but I digress.
In other news, Winehouse (whom I hadn't heard of until the past week) is frightening on a multitude of levels. :shock:
I don't get the "hit it-ness" of her at all.

i've looked at jazz from both sides now
from up and down
and still somehow
it's jazz illusions
i recall
the grammy's don't know jazz...

at all..

I should've just kept my mouth shut and enjoyed the humor. Sorry about that. :(
I'm a bit frustrated that THIS is what gets a Album of the Year Grammy for an African American Jazz musician.
Not Maiden Voyage or Empyrean Isles by Herbie. Not the countless deserving Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Art Blakey albums, but an album of Joni Mitchell covers. :?
I'll hop off the podium now and cede the bully pulpit to someone else.
