I haven't been to a concert in years. So for my birthday, I bought myself tickets to go see AC/DC at the Allstate arena on 10/30. I gave them to my wife and said "Find a babysitter on Oct. 30, and giftwrap these and give them to me on my birthday." It beats a tie... and I don't even wear ties.

Black T-shirts, ripped jeans, and plastic cups full of beer is exactly what this dude needs right now. I've never seen AC/DC before.

At one time I loved AC/DC. Now the second I hear a song from them I switch the channel or rip the cd out of the friends cd deck and throw it out the window. Still one of the great bands though.

I feel that way about the new stuff, but I never get sick of the Bon Scott era.

I don't know... Brian Johnson's voice doesn't sound nearly as taxed on their new song. Dare I say it may be a decent album? All I know is Razor's Edge though Stiff Upper Lip has horrendous vocals... just about unlistenable.

I knew a second show was going to be added so I passed on the Oct 30 show. That day is scheduled to be Game 7 of the WS. (Cubs?)

Will be there Nov 1. This will be my 7th time seeing them. They have always rocked, and even though they are gettin older I still think they will be awesome. We get them early in the tour so that should make it even better.

I saw the twice on the Razors Edge tour. Both shows were great both musically and theatrically. I still have a dollar bill with Angus on it, that the dropped when they played Moneytalks. You'll have a great time.

Irish Boy's Principles of Music:

1.) There is no acceptable "Rock" music (herein defined to include rock, metal, death metal, electric metal, alloyed metals, rap, rap-rock, pop-rock, or any similar genre.)

1a.) There is one acception to the rule- AC/DC.

I hope to be there. Tickets are a whole lot steeper than last time around though.

1. When ACDC comes on the radio, turn that shit up no matter what.

Brian's vocals are pretty bad live sometimes...he's got to have voice box callouses the size of his tonsils...but so were Plant's (with the exception of the very early Led) and Freddie (again with the exception of the early stuff of Queen)

This thread makes me realize how much I miss Bon Scott. The "Bonfire" box set is on heavy rotation at the Sevenfold casa.

btw: as "motley crue" in image they are (which i find to be completely tired...) i really started getting into avenged sevenfold. their last two discs are pretty ridiculous guitarwise.

Sadly my quasi legal (or not) russian MP3 site doesn't have the new disc yet. I'll post it once it does. They had Death Magnetic a week or 2 early.

Also got my hands on a boot of the Zep reunion show. Everything is tuned down quite a bit, and even then Plant can barely hit the stuff. As sad as I am that they won't be touring, it's probably for the better.

I knew you'd see the light someday Dougie. They are only 20 something, but I agree with you on the Crue "image" thing. I read an interview in Revolver that was down right embarassing (we snort coke, we fuck everything, we get blown by groupies, we walk around with our junk hanging out, blah, blah, blah). Just shut up and play.

I picked this up yesterday. So far so good though I found it strange that I had to adjust my car's EQ to hear Brian.

Whenever I hear AC/DC music, whether it plays on traditional rock radio on the FM side or if "MJH" are featuring the guys as their "Featured Artist" on Friday afternoons, I CRANK IT UP!!! 8) 8) 8)

I crank it up too but the baseline is so loud that it drowns out Brian so I had the bass setting out of the plus setting into normal. That's the first time I ever remember that.

singin' is a young man's business. Still, I don't think that Brian's deteriorating vocals takes away from some quality riffs on the new album.
