Yeah, I saw they have a new album. I didnt even bother checking it out. The Cure havent been relevant in almost 20 years. But I did pop in my copy of "Disintergration" this week. |

Yeah, I hate to say it, but I'm kinda done with the Cure. But I have to disagree on your statement that "the cure hasn't been relevant in almost 20 years". They still sell a lot of records, and still play to thousands of people. I remember buying the "Disintegration" cassette at an Omni (anyone remember them?) grocery store when I was like 15 years old. I didn't see that tour. But I saw the Wish tour and the Bloodflowers tour. Good shows, but both were at the World. There are some solid songs on Wish: High, Cut, and possibly my favorite Cure song, "Doing the Unstuck". There are solid songs on Wild Mood Swings as well: Strange Attraction, Return, and possibly my favorite "short" Cure song, Round and Round and Round. And here are 3 songs from Bloodflowers I like: The Last Day of Summer, Maybe Someday, and 39. I have the self-titled one from a few years ago, couldn't offer any insight on it due to the fact that I haven't ever listened to it. Not really interested in the new one, but I'll check out the samples on iTunes. Still love them, but I don't keep up with them on the other hand. Nostalgia. |
